A Well-Dressed Woman

Few things are more arresting than a well-dressed woman. A woman who dresses well is one to be taken seriously because she takes pride in her appearance and how she is perceived by the world. This woman most likely takes the same amount of care and pride in other non-sartorial areas of her life as well.

Wearing a great outfit provides a lift on a hectic day; armour for that tough meeting and the confidence to walk into a room full of strangers. The way in which we dress says a lot about who we are. Some may think to put effort in the way you look is a frivolous act and that those who do should not be taken seriously but that can’t be further from the truth because the colours and style of clothing we wear is in a way, a reflection of how we view ourselves.

In this day where fuller figured women are being celebrated and seen on covers of glossy magazines, you’ll be surprised to know that many fashion designers still prefer to design clothing for slimmer figures claiming clothing looks better on svelte silhouettes. I disagree with this notion, anyone can look good in an outfit, it just depends on how you style it.

Being well-dressed is not as difficult as you may think. You don’t have to be thin nor do you need to have boat loads of money.

The key to looking great in an outfit lies in knowing your body, what your best assets are and then dressing to accentuate that.

For instance, if you have nice legs then by all means wear shorts, short skirts or whatever else that draws attention to your legs. On the other hand, if you have gorgeous breasts, show them off by wearing tops and dresses with plunging necklines.

You don’t need lots of money to be well-dressed.

Some people use their earning as an excuse for why they can’t look or dress a certain way. “I don’t earn enough money to buy myself a work wardrobe”, they say, but that’s just an excuse. You don’t need an extensive wardrobe or lots of money to look good. You’ll be surprised at how many looks you can pull off with just a few wardrobe staples like a dress, pencil skirt and high waist pants.

A woman without a real sense of style can waste money perpetually shopping for the season’s “must-haves” instead of only buying pieces that suit her body type. This woman drives herself crazy trying to copy a look but she doesn’t always get it right. Her wardrobe is filled with mismatched pieces and she always feels like she has nothing to wear.

While style is relative, a well-dressed woman is universally recognisable. It doesn’t matter which country she is in, what language she speaks, her style is her shield and tells the world who she is or who she wants to be.
