5 OUTERWEAR TO HAVE YOU LOOKING LIKE A RICH AUNTY THIS WINTER

It’s literally the second to the last day of the month of July. Meaning August is a day away or it will be by the time you read this.

How did this year fly by yet not? It is undoubtedly the most difficult year for everyone but you know, you have to try to find the positive in any negative situation.

And right now there are a few things to be thankful for. Life, health, family and the fact that we can eat at restaurants even without alcohol are all positives. If you don’t live in South Africa and you’re reading this, there’s a ban on alcohol in the country. Can you just imagine?!

Anyway, today is all about F-A-S-H-U-N.

We may be in a pandemic but we still gotta look good, right?

So here are my top 5 Outerwear from Superbalist to have you looking like a rich aunty this winter or at least before winter ends.

Short oversized double-breasted coat

Keep it classy and elegant with this rich aunty look. She sips tea with her pinky finger raised. She’s bougie but after a bottle of red wine, all bets are off. I love how it is styled on the model with a black turtle neck and beige trousers, very chic. You can wear it with brogues, pumps, sneakers or even ankle boots.

Faux fur collar crop coat

A little hood but fashion-ABLE rich aunty. This faux fur coat is giving me Jenny from the block/my love don’t cost a thing vibe. Large, round, gold hooped earrings, a small purse, wide-leg pants and you’re ready for a weekend brunch date with the girls. Wear a yellow bedazzled mask and Cardi B will be ringing you up to be her stylist in no time. Wear this coat with sneakers or platform heels and you won’t be missed even in a crowd.

Girl boss houndstooth blazer

This is such a classic look. This is the ultimate rich aunty. She rides horses on the weekend, eats caviar for breakfast. Her favourite designer is Chanel of course. This look is for a special day at the office or if you have a speaking engagement. I would pair this with anything from a pencil skirt, skinny jeans to wide-leg pants with So Kate Christian Louboutin.

Trench Coat

A trench coat is a must-have in any woman’s winter wardrobe. The beige colour makes it perfect to pair with anything without clashing. It doesn’t matter what you wear underneath, a trench coat is very forgiving and makes you look like you made an effort even when you haven’t. This rich aunty has her life planned to the letter. She doesn’t drink and doesn’t stay up past 10 pm every night even on a weekend. Her favourite perfume is Chanel Mademoiselle. Some may say she is a party pooper. I’d say she just knows what she wants.

Longer length blazer

This rich aunty owns a fashion line and day drinks. Because she’s her own boss so she calls the shots. Everyone thinks she’s fabulous.

This blazer is stylish and can be worn to various events from work to cocktails with the girls. You can dress it up or down. I love the touch of the neck scarf on the model, it further elevates the blazer.

Which rich aunty suits your style?
