From Boardroom To a Night Out
When it comes to dressing, most working women are looking for convenience. We want an outfit that can transform from day to night in seconds.
We want to go from the boardroom to a night out on the town.
Is there an outfit that can do that? Yes, there is. In fact, there are many.
We often waste time and precious brain power asking ourselves “What am I going to wear?” That decision to pick an outfit can be as quick as two minutes or a long and drawn out 45 minutes.
When you’re a mother, wife and career woman among others you start to find that time is a luxury. So instead, you try to find ways to maximise your time. It is no coincidence that they say women are great at multi-tasking.
Although, having a list of responsibilities is no reason to neglect oneself. Looking good should also be on your list of priorities but you can limit the amount of time you spend deciding on what to wear.
Wearing the same outfit to work and to events is a power move by women, says Arianna Huffington and I couldn’t agree more.
Even Obama was quoted saying in a 2012 Vanity Fair article, “I don’t want to make decisions about what I’m eating or wearing. Because I have too many other decisions to make”. Read the full article here.
When shopping for an outfit, the trick is to ask yourself, “how many different ways can I wear this?”
This look I’ve styled is a transitional look from day to night. Wearing a playsuit, blazer and pencil skirt, with a necklace as an accessory, I created a corporate office look.
Maybe I want to go the club or out for cocktails and dinner with some friends and just by changing my shoes, removing my pencil skirt and necklace, I’m ready for a night on the town.
