What’s not to love about jewellery? It’s a girl’s best friend. Men have caught on too and that’s why on special occasions like Valentine’s day, anniversaries or when they’re trying to get out of the dog house, they whip out a trinket box.
Jewellery adds a certain je ne sais quoi to an outfit. It doesn’t matter how well dressed you are, your look is not complete without it. You can go from a 6 to a solid 9 if you know how to mix and match your accessories.
An earring, a ring, bracelet and or necklace can give your look some oomph and add personality. But you have to be discerning when it comes to selecting jewellery because just as easily as it can make you look stylish and sophisticated, it can also make you look gaudy. Olivia Palermo always does it right in my books.
Chokers have had their turn, layered necklaces are the latest trend. They are au courant and have been spotted on the necks of influencers like Bonang Matheba, Patricia Bright and Jasmine Tookes to name a few.
I LOVE this trend but haven’t been able to find something suitable until recently.
For the love of jewellery, I found this green stone pendant necklace at Merchants on Long by Matter of Fakt. Green is my favourite colour and there was no way I was going to leave the store without buying it and I figured I probably could layer it with another necklace.
This is when I had an ‘aha’ moment. This whole time, I thought layered necklaces all came pre-layered but it turns out that you can do the layering yourself by buying individual necklaces and combining them to create the layered look.
What’s a jewellery collection without a bold statement ring? This Leo ring by Amber Sceats is giving me “must own” vibes. The emblem is Versace esque, don’t you think?
