What’s On My Wishlist?

by | Jul 5, 2019 | Fashion

I can’t believe we’re halfway through the year already, can you? Time really does fly. Did you start this year thinking it’ll be the best year yet? How is it going so far?

As for me, it’s been a year of rediscovery and learning.  It definitely has not gone exactly according to plan but I’m not complaining.

But before I get all deep and philosophical, let’s move on to a lighter topic, shall we? S-H-O-P-P-I-N-G, yay!

I’m an online shopping kind of girl. Why? Because it is easy and convenient.  All you need is your phone or laptop and if you have data or wifi, you can shop at any time of the day, anywhere. You also don’t have to worry about finding parking or paying for parking, and all the stresses that come with shopping in a physical store. Sounds convenient right?

According to Business Live, South Africans are likely to shop for clothing online than anywhere else.

My favourite online fashion store is Superbalist, one of South Africa’s leading online retail stores.  But if you follow me on Instagram, this will come as no surprise to you, because a large number of the clothes I wear and post on Instagram are from Superbalist. It is where I do most of my clothes shopping.

Superbalist stocks a wide array of products in the beauty, fashion and homeware categories. And with over 500+ local and international brands, you’re spoilt for choice.

Whether I’m going to a wedding,  the gym or  I need a WOW outfit for work or to land an interview, whatever the occasion, Superbalist is my go-to. They stock every outfit for E-V-E-R-Y occasion.

On the Superbalist website, you can create a wishlist which can be made private or public to share with your friends and family. If you’re wondering what the point of a wishlist is, let me break it down for you:

  1. A wishlist prevents you from making an impulsive purchase. You don’t have to ‘add to cart’ if you’re having doubts. The wishlist is where you dump that R2,500 dress when you have some serious thinking to do about your finances and what you’ll have to sacrifice if you do purchase it.
  2. If you’ve got a birthday party coming up and you’re tired of people buying you gifts you don’t like and will never use, you can always share your wish list with everyone that will be attending. Even if they all end up getting you the same thing, at least you can return and exchange. Check out Superbalist’s returns and exchanges policy here.
  3. Another reason you may want to share your wishlist is to get a second opinion from your best friend about the dress you’ve chosen for your blind date.  To share your Superbalist wishlist,  after selecting your item/s and adding it to the wishlist, you simply share a link as shown in the video below and he or she can validate your choice – yay, meh or hell to the no.

Here are 5 items on my Superbalist Wishlist

  1. And It Was All Yellow

I love occasion wear and this yellow plunge collar tie shift dress from MissGuided is just that. You can wear it on a night out with the girls or bae. Go from cocktails to the club and then for a more conservative look, pair it with a pair of black wide-leg pants or skinny jeans. I’m always down for a versatile piece that you can style multiple ways and this dress is just that.

   2. Lady With The Red Bag

A lady without her handbag is no lady. Tiny bags that are as big as my pinky finger might be au courant but I live for big handbags. I need to be able to fit things in it. This red Agrenave bag from Aldo is not only striking, but it is also functional and practical. Pretty with depth, I like it! I can see this bag being my everyday work bag. It can also double as an overnight bag when I go for a sleepover at a friend’s.

3. A holiday in Mykonos

So what if it’s winter and it’s cold and rainy? I’ve got a holiday destination in mind and it is in Greece. Granted, I’m not travelling anytime soon, but this sexy, black one piece is giving me holiday fever in a warm, idyllic setting.  Summer is also not as far away as you think so why not?

4. Loafer me in Style

Loafers are one of those comfortable and sophisticated shoes you see on the feet of the upper-middle class. Just think of your faves from the British TV show, Made In Chelsea.  This black pointed loafer from Call It Spring is the epitome of sophistication. I can see me in it. Perfect for everyday work shoes. You will look stylish and still be comfortable. What is there not to like?!

5. A good fragrance…

I love a good scent and this one I’ve had my eye on for some time. The simple yet sophisticated design of the bottle and the floral scent of the fragrance has me thinking of summertime in Italy. A definite must-have for the upcoming summer season.
